Comment to win and how it works

All you have to do is comment on this post and pretty much say or ask anything. You may post multiple times but I only count you once. So while I love to hear from you, I only load you in the spreadsheet once. If you don’t win, please try again next month!

Then a week later I will pick a random number assigned to each of your names and I will post another announcement post with the winner.

Bonus! Read this part!!

I only allow one winner per year and this November I will pick one of the winners to give a 8×10 canvas gallery wrap from my online gallery. You get to pick the image and then I will send you both a discount code and a gift certificate that will cover the price of purchase and shipping it to you. You can of course up size it and use the certificate as a down payment towards a larger print!

Before hand we’ll talk and I’ll find out how much shipping is to get it to you and then you’ll get a code that is only good for my gallery to purchase from. (Don’t worry we’ll talk and I’ll make it clear) 🙂

As usual the contest will run for one week. This next Tuesday night (the 23rd) I will pick the winner prior to going to bed and it will be announced in the morning on Wednesday.

(Damn now I have to start writing it!)

  1. Hello Jeff,
I would like to thank you for sharing your expertise and experiences with us. We will be in the NE US and Canada for 18 days starting 9/28, and I have made use of your many posts to plan our first leaf peeping trip. Last, but certainly not least, your photographic images are stunning, evoking a sense of tranquility.
    Thank you

  2. Ok, let’s start saying next week will be my birthday (the 22th). I’d love to visit New England to celebrate it, but I’m afraid I’ve to wait a little longer. So, in the meantime, it would be nice to win this contest ! 😀
Just kidding! But thank you Jeff for sharing your beautiful photos with us. It’s a pleasure for the eyes.

  3. Been to Vermont last year’s fall, we loved it! And we’re coming back this October—so excited for this another fall foliage trip!

  4. My husband and I have really enjoyed your blog the past several months. It has helped us a great deal in planning our fall foliage trip next month & Oct.! Our route is totally planned now and our reservations made! We cannot wait! We couldn’t have done it without your help so we thank you a great deal. We wouldn’t have known about so many places that you mentioned – we are grateful! Thanks for opening our eyes to several places we can’t wait to see!

  5. I absolutely love your photos that you share. I’m following your blog. Im planning a trip in late September/Early October. This will be our 1st time to look for the beautiful fall foilage in New Hampshire and Vermont. I usually go to the Smoky Mountains. I’m hoping to see more reds and vibrant colors. Thanks for your helpful updates!

    • Unless we get cooler temps in Sept going into Oct, I think you will want to be in the White mountains to north of them. Route 2 should be a great drive or up by Dixville Notch… and don’t miss Stark NH with the covered bridge and church…

  6. When we knew we were coming to New England (from Old England!). I searched for a ‘foliage’ site and blog to follow. Have loved your work, and would soo like to return.

  7. Stunning pic as always!! Planning my first trip to see this beauty in person this Oct! Love love the pics and posts!

  8. I’ve been following your blog for awhile, and I think it’s starting to have an affect on me. I am now more motivated than ever to get to New England, and possibly stay:)

  9. Just wanted to let you know that after reading your blog for the last year or two. My husband and I are coming to New Hampshire at the end of September. We have reservations on the Conway scenic railroad. We are so excited and can’t wait. We enjoy driving country roads and are going to plan to visit many of the places you have mentioned in your blogs.

  10. Love all the photos you post and can’t wait to see the start of this years season of color ! More importantly, I cannot wait until I can view the magnificent foliage in person. Thank you so much for taking the time to post and keep this page up.

  11. Hi Jeff, we have a trip Oct 5-15 staying in Lenox, MA, Woodstock, VT, Carroll, NH (white mountain resort) – would love tips for routes to drive or must see day trips!

  12. I love this picture of the footbridge and would love to know where it is. We only have 7 weeks left before heading from Arkansas to New England for the fall foliage. I would love seeing your photos & would love the chance to win one. Thanks for keeping us updated.

    • This footbridge is in Massachusetts at Damon Pond in Willard Brook State Forest. Take Townsend road (route 119) and you will see the sing for the pond, some parking can be found also.

  13. I’m ready for fall–been a hot and humid summer here in coastal Delaware. Weather is pointing to a possible glimpse of fall weather next week….sooo excited!!

  14. You probably never pick the first commenter, but I did want to tell you how much I enjoy your pictures and your posts. Vermont is my happy place, Autumn is my favorite color, and your work makes me happy during the long stretches when I cannot be in New England. (Even though I think New York should count as part of New England!!)

    • I do it as random as possible and I don’t pick names but numbers in a spreadsheet and when the computer picks a random number I go to see who wins… simpler that way and less chance I might pick someone I know…

  15. Hi Jeff, I think I commented last month (or was it the month before?!) Anyhoo, I am the one with the annual childhood
friends’ reunion coming up Oct. 13-17th and we will be in Jackson, NH at a beautiful rental right in the village. ‘They’ are
so excited about their fall trip to New England as the 3 couples live in Kentucky, California and Minnesota. I live in
East Kingston, NH and and am hosting this year’s gathering. I follow your blog religiously with total delight as I am
originally from North Dakota – but been here for 40 years and can almost be considered a ‘New Englander’. Am hoping
I (and Mother Nature) can show them a great time – and will use many of your wonderful experiences in the Whites and
surrounds to make that happen. Keep experiencing – and telling us and showing us! Priscilla

  16. Hi Jeff! Love your blog and photos! I have been following your page and continue to! It makes me so excited for vacation coming up!! We are going to Salem too-one of my favorite places to be!!

  17. Have a lot going on but the wife and I couldn’t resist a trip to the Whites in the fall. Just booked two weeks stay in October in Meredith. Can’t wait.

  18. As I’m sitting in my chair reading and preparing for the day I am listening to a soft rain. We are experiencing some lower temps this week as well. These type days always put me in the ‘fall mood’. Then open my emails, see one from you and this beautiful picture with its lovely little bridge, creek and those vibrant beautiful fall colors of the trees. Thank you for adding to my ‘fall mood’ this morning. I live in anticipation through winter, spring and summer for fall.

  19. Hi Jeff, Footbridge Under the Fall Colors is so gorgeous!! You are making me look forward to fall. Do you think that the leaves will change early again because of the lack of rain? Hope you are well!! Liz

    • I think in most cases it will be a bit later unless the temps drop below what the forecasts say… Right now it depends on the temps and whether we get a storm from out in the atlantic… Those are game changers and we can only react to them…

  20. We loved our road trip to New England last year. Such beautiful fall foliage!! I would truly LOVE to see it one more time!!!!

  21. Hi Jeff,
We cannot wait for our Fall trip to Maine this September. Hopefully the leaves have some color by the 27th!
    Eric Robel

I'd love to hear what you think!
