Does this sound too good to be true? Well, you can, by directing your browser toward the fall foliage webcam page, here on my site. I use this page to get an idea of what the state of fall foliage is across New England. This page is loaded with remote cameras (or webcams) from various institutions that for various reasons have public cameras pointing out on the world. If you have a suggestion for a New England webcam that has great views of Fall foliage I’d love to check it out. These are becoming harder to come by, what with Youtube videos taking over the world.
Webcam basics
What is a webcam? they are simply cameras, (still or video) that are outside buildings pointing at the nearby countryside. In most cases, they take a picture at set intervals from one minute to one hour. This is then transmitted to their website for the world to see.
In some cases these are in the downtown of a city and in other cases they are upon a ski resort (skiers can get their snow fix even from home) and in one case, one of the cameras is waaay up on the Mount Washington observatory. Make sure on my page you click through to the webcams owner page and buy something… Good Karma is worth it…
Locations for webcams
I have found webcams in most New England states but I’m lacking cams in Rhode Island and Connecticut, so if you know of a good webcam in those locations, let me know. Also if you see that a link is dead, then please move on to the next one. I usually will give it some time to come back before deleting the cam from my page… They all go down at one time or another, so patience is a virtue.
Also, I have ads on this page for things you need on Amazon, how do I know you need them? Because I think you do but if you are blocking ads then you won’t know if you need them, so unblock this page and let me know if they are truly something you need. (Again, good karma)

It’s Tuesday the 13th of Sept (0800hrs or 8AM for non-military types) and I looked at web cams all but one showed nothing interesting. The last one in Underhill Vermont is at UVM’s maple research labs. Here they test the maples and they have their own sugar shack… Testing has such sweet rewards.
Anyway they are very far north in VT and I think I can see some fall color? how about you? I think there is some red in those maples!!!
